The Experience started in 2006 and continued until 2011. It started again in 2015. This year's will be the eighth edition.
DIFFERENT FORMATIONS
There have been different formations. Trio, quartet, quintet or septet. This year's is a sextet.
THE ARCHITECTS
The original idea came from Juan Jesús García Merayo who designated Abe Rábade as the coordinator.
THE CREATIVE PROCESS
The documentary aims to illustrate the process by which the six musicians form the 2016 Experience.
5 cities, rehearsal & concert
The Documentary visits the musicians' five hometowns to record every detail of the rehearsal and the concert.
OTHER MUSIC styles
In addition to jazz, the film will show other music styles. From rock to traditional Ibiza song.
Why a documentary on the Experience?
To form a jazz group, with different musicians every year, to play in the Eivissa Jazz festival and then disappear is a unique proposal. It’s an original event that raises multiple questions. How do they do it? What is needed to reach that level of skill and security? Do they always succeed? What happens if something goes wrong? How do they feel? Do they have doubts? All these questions and more are what we want to answer in this documentary.
